I love being a part of the art-o-mat project. Every few months I submit a new edition of 50 miniature collages. They are packaged in boxes the size of a box of cigarettes and sold through art-o-mat vending machines throughout the country.
For less than a pack of cigarettes, anyone can own a hand-made piece of original art.
As an artist, this is a great opportunity to keep my practice fresh. I love exploring variations in theme and colors. I draw inspiration from the natural world and from scraps of paper I find. My trees were inspired by scraps of thin quilling paper. I added to the palette of colors with mulberry paper scrap packs, offering a great variety of textures and colors. The water and stones series was inspired by larger drawings of stones. I began cutting small pebbles from the larger painted images.
